From the Shetland Islands, via the ‘City of Edinburgh Music School’ and Birmingham Conservatoire, Rachael Cohen now finds herself amongst the top players on London’s vibrant Jazz scene and one the leading voices of her generation. Head hunted by Bass player Michael Janisch, Rachael became the first female to be signed to his now internationally renowned label ‘Whirlwind Recordings’, releasing her debut ‘Halftime’ in 2014 to critical acclaim. Rachael holds a monthly residency at London’s most famous Jazz Club – Ronnie Scott’s, where she can be found performing with her own quartet, as well as the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra. An active composer, Rachael writes for her own ensembles, most notably for her trio with New York drummer Jason Brown (Monty Alexander, Joey Defrancesco), and Quartet featuring the Vibraphonist Lewis Wright (Empirical). Recent years have seen Rachael tour with the Blue Note supergroup ‘Artemis’ led by pianist Renee Rosnes, and her work with Japanese pianist Miki Yamanaka. She has been listed twice in the critic’s poll as a rising star in the American magazine ‘Downbeat’

Felix Ambach is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Germany based in Brooklyn, New York. the long standing friendships and established trust within this trio build the strong foundation for their honest search for sincere emotional expression. his current set of compositions is based on poems by brooklyn-based writer Aster Drewe. Aster Drewe’s poetic work combines the ethereal with the grounded in hopes to bring productive dialogue around systematic societal change. her work was exhibited at Yale university, Columbia university and nyu tisch New York. alongside the music, the goal is to create awareness of current political trends, spark thoughts, and provide a space for reflection and exchange.
Felix Ambach’s trio features long time collaborators London based vibraphonist Jonathan Mansfield (Chris Potter, Nikki Iles, Kaja Draksler) and Cologne based bassist Roger kKntopf (Kate Gentile, Christian Lillinger, Cory Smythe).
Felix Ambach has worked with shahzad ismaily, yves jarvis, milena casado, emmanuel michael, slowspin, renee christine, john benitez, grey mcmurray, django bates, frank lazy, and many more.
Current musical influences are careful in the sun, underscores, steve reich, pink must, prince, sanguis, toninho horta, shirley horn, steve reich and flanafi.

Rising star saxophonist Sam Glaser brings his all-star quintet to the Bull and Gate for his debut performance at Jazz in Kentish Town. Sam is renowned for his warm and distinctive alto sound, lyrical improvising, and virtuosic playing. The show will feature brand new original compositions by Sam, inspired by his experiences over the last five years away from music working in mental health. You can expect to hear soaring melodies, rich harmonies, and fireworks between the musicians as they navigate this exciting new music. Get your tickets early, this show is not one to miss!

London based guitarist and composer, David Preston has been described by the Guardian as “Virtuosic” and TimeOut as “A superb modern jazz guitarist”.
He released his 2 part debut album ‘Purple / Black’ on Whirlwind Recordings in ’23 & ’24 featuring ECM recording artists, Kit Downes, Sebastian Rochford and bassist Kevin Glasgow, receiving Editors Choice and a 4 star review in Jazzwise Magazine.
A finalist at the Montreux International Guitar competition, David is composer and co-leader for the acclaimed UK modern-jazz trio ‘Preston Glasgow Lowe’ and has released two albums (’16 & ’18) on UK/US label, Whirlwind Recordings. The trio has performed internationally in Japan and Europe as well as playing over 150 concerts throughout the UK.
David is an active collaborator with a variety of UK musicians such as Jeremy Stacey, Lianne La Havas, Empirical, Asaf Sirkis, Peter Ind, Emma Rawicz, Eska, Goldie & the Heritage Orchestra, Jamie Murray, and piano and drum virtuoso Gary Husband.
He has performed/toured/recorded with US artists such as Grammy-Winning US jazz vocalists Melody Gardot, Curtis Stigers, Jesse Harris, and notable US based musicians Sy Smith, David Binney, Ingrid Jensen, Charnett Moffett, Patrick Cornelius and Tim Armacost.
